Brunneau River

idaho

November, 2019.

Down in the southwestern corner of Idaho, where the roads disappear off of the map, there exists a sea of sage that hides forgotten canyons.

The Brunneau Desert is part of a larger sagebrush plain that spans parts of Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho.

The Brunneau, Jarbridge, and Owyhee Rivers hide in deep canyons as they make their way to the snake.

The roads are rough. traveled only by thrill-seekers and ranchers. the pull of the river is strong.

It takes 60 long dusty miles before you even reach the edge of the abyss.

Once you reach the crack in the earth, that has been stretching its way across the horizon, the journey only begins.

The road into the canyon makes the cheat road look paved, hell it makes any dirt road feel paved.

When you reach the truck you're almost there, kinda.
